Everything for the Stolen Treasure
Blood dripped slowly
Drip, drip, drip
He gasped for breath clutching the remains of his heart
Vision was blurry and hope seemed faint
Crimson lake inundated around his knees
His knees
Knees were on the floor
On the tip of defeat…
No!
No!
Unacceptable
My princess
She’s waiting
I
I must save her!
I
I must live!
He took a grasp on the last flowing energy
Thump, thump, thump
He folded his pain and forgot the beat of his heart
Clarity returned to his eyes, rage flamed in them
Drinking in his own blood
Cringing and tightly grasping his sword
He lifted
Lifted on the love of his one
And only
Princess
Protect, protect
They came
In numbers
Such numbers
Slashes of swords
Clashes of glares
Cashes of battle cries
One man
On thief has fallen in love with royalty…
In town of far away
In a time of long ago
A small and feeble man
Came to tell the future
For a desperate though cruel king
“Such beauty and gift has given to your daughter”
He said
“Yes, yes, beauty is a sin. A man of no dignity to you,
Though with a heart bigger than any treasure he may hope to find
Shall fall in love with your daughter.”
The king was infuriated
His daughter, with a thief of lowlife!
How dare he spit such rubbish!
Away he went with the man.
The man smiled
A sinister smile
Flashes of guilt feel upon the king’s eyes
No, no, the king cried.
Why?
The man was a powerful magician
Powerful, but judging
Snap went his fingers
With a poof of majestic lights
A striking young magician stood before the king
“Your cruel heart will be the demise
Of your daughter!
You will only learn the truth
Upon the pain you shall
Feel, crying, crying such bloody tears!
Yes
Until you feel the pain
Pain in you heart
Till you cry blood
Will you have learned your lesson!”
He locked the princess in isolation
Only in the morning was the king allowed to enter her room!
Curse! Cursed!
Or blessed? Bless?
With a wispy gasp the magician was gone.
The thief saw her
Sleeping
Such delicate skin
Luminous lips
Not red, but the softest pink
Her hand was, oh so gently hanging off the edge of the bed
He placed the loot down
Light on his feet,
As well as his heart
He stepped closer to the new found treasure
He knelt besides the bed and held the hand of the beauty.
He placed his lips against the pure skin
A tingling sensation went down the back of the thief
Ah, the warmth of comfort woke the princess
Her fluttering eyes met the eyes peering from the darkness
Shocked, she was lost for words
But the eyes
He had the same eyes
Lonely eyes, seeking companion
Whispers of embarrassment, of apologetic flusters flew from his mouth
But still the warmth of his hand did not leave her hand
Talk,
Smothers
Of warmth and introductions
Life each other poured
The moon hovered
But now
Setting it was
Morning came
The king opened the door
The flares
Such angry flames
His daughter was in the arms
Of a dirty pest
How? How did this little bug penetrate the magicians’ curse,
When he, her father tried everything to enter
But had always failed?!
Guards, guards he called
Off with his head, now, now!
Princess, come to me
You are safe now
No, no she shook her head.
She embraced her newfound treasure of comfort
The king soften
His daughter
Sweet and delicate
No, no! he roared and fumed
The thief placed a gentle kiss on the back of her hand and said a quick good bye
Swift and cunningly
He jumped from the window of her room
Landing softly on the dirt patch he ran
He’ll come back another day
Mad, mad rage, rage!
King locked up his one and only daughter
Stay he commanded.
Guards he ordered, many, many
Find the pest, kill him, and rip his heart out!
I’ll shall eat it for dinner!
And he came back
The fool he was
Driven by the hope that he may see her, just once more
He dove in
But he was attacked
He fought back
The image of his love came back
He wanted to win, live, live to see, just see his love
Kill everyone, every one of these soldiers!
He shall conquer! Just…
Just to see his love
And here we are, watching this scene
A war between one man and the many soldiers of a cruel king
He closed his eyes
And imagined the life he can have with his love
He promised he would steal no more
Not another man he will kill
If he can embrace his princess just once more
His feet gained wings and he swiftly ran
Ran up the walls of the castle to the window where he had once jumped from
There laid his princess crying
Sorrow filled his cut heart
Hey there he whispered
She raised her head and saw him
Happy, joy
She smiled with such warmth
But the smile quickly faded as she saw how her love was wounded
She ran to him to tend him
Nothing, nothing she could do.
She cried and cried
Hush he said
I’m all right
No, no she cried.
The thief embraced her
Her head, sobbing into her chest
He took a look around her room
Royalty
He looked at himself
Just a peasant…
He placed his hands on her shoulder
He spoke words of comfort to stop her tears
Then he jumped out the window
This time he climbed
Out around
Into the woods
He cried tears
Tears of hurt
Tears of pain
Oh how his heart hurt
Love, love
Such cruelty
His brought his dagger to his already ripped heart
I love you
Blood dripped slowly
Drip, drip, drip
He gasped for breath clutching the remains of his heart
